About Eyracure

After several years of research, we are now introducing a ground-breaking hair treatment made in Sweden that will revolutionize the way you take care of your hair. The new advanced technology has been developed over several years of intensive research to offer a product that is very easy to use and also has the same effect as before. Whether hair is damaged from colouring, bleaching or heat styling, this product is specifically designed to target and repair broken bonds and split ends. The result is healthy hair with a natural shine after just one treatment.

When you use Eyracure, thousands of biological light-activated plant proteins (BioLAP-20) are delivered to your hair strands, targeting the broken bonds (the thiols – the split and broken disulfide bonds), and are activated when you brush through it with the BioLAP-20 Activator Brush for to make your hair brand new again. Thanks to its low molecular weight, BioLAP-20 can penetrate all the way to the cortex and repair the hair from the inside out. Eyracure has more than 20 bonds per molecule, which is 4 to 10 times more than the two most common bond builders on the market. With more bonds, the BioLAP-20 molecules also bind more effectively to the damage in the hair. The effect is achieved after the first treatment. With each subsequent treatment, more and more damage is repaired. The damage is permanently repaired, but the hair is affected by external wear and tear that occurs every day and new damage occurs daily, therefore the treatments are done at approximately 4 week intervals.

Hair is a thread-like biomaterial consisting mostly of the protein “keratin”. Keratin, in turn, is made up of sulphur, which connects with other sulfur molecules and creates cross-links, also known as disulphide bonds. How many disulfide bonds you have in your hair, and how they sit, affects the shape and texture of the hair. These bonds are hydrophobic, i.e. repel water.

Each hair consists of three main layers: Cuticle, Cortex and Medulla. The cuticle, or scale layer, is the outermost layer of the hair. The cuticle consists of transparent, overlapping, flax-like cells that grow from the head towards the end of the hair. The scale layer is thin and colorless and acts as a protective barrier for the inner layer of the hair, preventing damage and dehydration. The cortex is the thickest layer of hair fiber and makes up the largest part of the hair and is made up of round cells. The cortex is important for the hair’s strength and elasticity and also contains the pigments that give us our hair color. The medulla is the innermost layer of the hair shaft, which is mostly found in thicker hair. It consists of loosely packed cells and air spaces, giving the hair a hollow or spongy appearance. However, the medulla is often absent in fine or thin hair.

In healthy hair, the cuticle has a smooth and shiny appearance. This is because the cuticle layer is tightly closed over the cortex. But the cuticle can be damaged by e.g. mechanical wear such as brushing, or chemical wear such as bleaching. When the hair is damaged, the strong disulfide bonds are broken, creating free thiols. As a result, the cuticle layer opens and the hair becomes less water resistant and more porous, which in turn means it becomes weaker and more prone to shedding, losing shine and luster. When the cuticle is so damaged that the cortex is exposed, something as simple as water can cause your hair to break. If you get split ends, it’s the cortex that’s exposed, because the protective layer is gone. Eyracure’s innovation lies in the discovery of BioLAP-20. The molecule is a functionalized biomolecule that is activated under light (>365nm-900nm). When activated, the molecules create a strong covalent bond with exposed thiols at the damaged site. The “arms” of the molecule attach to the thiols and restore the disulfide bonds. Thanks to BioLAP-20’s low molecular weight, the molecule can reach all the way into the hair’s cortex and repair the hair from the inside out.

Already after the first treatment you feel results, but the longer you use the product, the stronger your hair will become.
